🜍 Invocation & Path working: The Sacred Scarab of Becoming

“I am the seed in shadow,
The wheel in waste,
The light unborn.
Roll me forward, O Khephra,
Until I rise as Sun reborn.”

🜂 Preparation

Tools (optional): Thoth Tarot deck, black and gold candle, myrrh or solar incense, scarab charm or figure (if available).

Cards to place on altar or visualization path:

• Death (XIII) – entrance into the underworld, the realm of Khephra

• Art (XIV) – the mixing vessel, where the old Self is transmuted

• The Sun (XIX) – emergence from the underworld, triumphant and radiant

Lay them in a vertical line: Death at the base, Art in the center, The Sun at the crown. Or imagine them as the spiral path of the scarab rolling upward.

🌑 Step 1: Enter the Underworld – Death (XIII)

Close your eyes and breathe deep.

Visualize yourself standing before a wide underground river. The air is thick and ancient. You hold the Death card in your hand. From beneath the earth, a scarab of black obsidian rolls a glowing orb toward you.

You step onto the orb—it is your past, your story, your discarded shell.

The scarab rolls you across the river of the dead.

“I offer what is dead within me.
May it feed the seeds of what shall be.
Khephra, open the gates of Becoming.”

Let yourself be rolled into the dark. Float in this stillness.

🜔 Step 2: The Alchemical Vessel – Art (XIV)

Now you find yourself inside a glowing chamber—a crucible of gold and indigo. The scarab has placed you within a swirling sphere.

Before you stands the figure from the Art card, androgynous and serene, mixing fire into water, gold into silver.

The scarab watches silently as your body begins to dissolve into light and liquid. You are becoming elixir, a new Self in formulation.

“Temper me in the vessel of stars.
Mix me from shadow and flame.
I am neither what I was, nor what I shall be—
I am Becoming.”

Rest here in stillness until you feel the transformation begin. When the inner alchemy is complete, rise.

🌞 Step 3: Emergence into Radiance – The Sun (XIX)

You are reborn in a radiant desert, where golden dunes stretch endlessly. The Sun rises behind you, blazing with a spiraling scarab at its center.

You emerge, naked and newborn, as a Solar Child—complete, authentic, resplendent.

The scarab now rolls the Sun behind you, as though you have become the axis around which the orb moves. You are both rider and guide.

“I am the Sun that was hidden.
I am the heart of fire unveiled.
Khephra, let my soul be as the scarab—
Tireless, luminous, eternally Becoming.”

Stand tall and let the light pour into you. When ready, bow to the scarab and return with the golden light embedded in your heart.

🜓 Integration & Closing

Take a few deep breaths. If you used physical cards, gather them with reverence.

Say aloud:

“I have died, and I have risen.
I am the fire in the dung.
I am the child of the Sun.
I roll forward.”

You may journal your visions or create a sigil from the glyph of Khephra entwined with the Hebrew letters Nun, Samekh, and Resh.
