🜃 Path of Qoph: Shadow Integration Ritual

A Moon Pathworking with the Thoth Tarot

🌑 Purpose:

To enter the lunar subconscious via the Path of Qoph, face and integrate personal and collective shadows, and transmute instinctual fear into awakened intuition. This ritual is ideal during the waning moon or Dark Moon phase.

🜁 Ritual Tools:

  • Thoth Tarot Card: The Moon (ATU XVIII)

  • A silver or dark blue cloth (altar or floor mat)

  • Black mirror or bowl of still water

  • Incense: Myrrh or Mugwort

  • Candle: Indigo, silver, or white

  • Crystal (optional): Moonstone or Labradorite

  • Journal or dream log for post-work

🜂 Opening Invocation:

Light the candle and incense. Gaze into the Thoth Moon card and recite:

“By the light of the unseen Sun,
I walk the winding path of Qoph.
Through illusion and shadow,
I seek the hidden Self.
O Lunar Gatekeeper, unveil what sleeps
in the Womb of Becoming.”

Place the card before you and breathe deeply, allowing the lunar imagery to pull your awareness inward.

🜃 Guided Visualization: The Lunar Descent

Close your eyes and begin rhythmic breathing. Visualize yourself standing at the base of a twilight path between two ancient towers. A strange, luminous Moon glows above, shedding Yod-shaped drops of liquid fire that rain down like falling souls.

You feel the earth cool beneath your feet. Before you is a pool of dark water—the Moon Pool, the Womb of Yesod. Emerging from it is a strange creature: a Water Strider or lunar crustacean. It looks at you with ancient eyes, inviting you to walk forward.

To your left, a snarling wolf eyes you with raw instinct. To your right, a dog whimpers with both familiarity and confusion. These are your fears—abandonment, rejection, the dread of death, loss of control, and loss of love. Look at each and acknowledge their place in your psyche.

Continue walking between them. The path undulates like a dream, pulling you into a cavern of mist and mirror.

Here, you must confront your Shadow.

A face appears in the mist—it is yours, but twisted by doubt, fear, shame, or rage. Do not run. Step closer. Ask this Shadow Self what it needs. Listen deeply. Offer your hand. Embrace it. Say:

“I see you. I do not reject you.
Let us walk together into the Light.”

As you merge with this shadow, feel a silver pulse move from your feet to your crown. The fear transforms. The Moon glows brighter. The towers no longer guard—they guide.

🜄 Return and Integration

Visualize the path returning you to waking awareness. The wolf and dog now sit calmly as allies. The Moon Pool is still. You hold a single Yod-shaped flame in your hand—your reclaimed power.

Open your eyes slowly.

🜄 Closing Affirmation:

“I am not prey. I am Presence.
I am not fear. I am Flame.
From the Depths of the Subconscious,
I rise as the Radiant Self.”

Snuff the candle, ground yourself with food or touch. Write down what you encountered—especially symbols, words from your Shadow, or images that arose. These are keys to future healing.

🜂 Optional Enhancements:

  • Add a sigil of Qoph or a stylized lunar glyph drawn beforehand.

  • Pair with chanting the Hebrew letter Qoph (קוֹף) slowly.

  • Work with a partner or record your visualization for guided playback.
