Above all things, know thyself.
The Tetragrammaton — Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh (יהוה)
The Tetragrammaton—יהוה—is not merely a “name.” In Western Hermetic Qabalah it is a formula of emanation: the way the Unmanifest becomes manifest, and the way consciousness crystallizes into experience.
It is pronounced in letters rather than spoken as a word:
Yod – Heh – Vav – Heh.
Each letter is a stage of Divine self-articulation.
1. Yod (י) — The Fiery Point
A spark.
The primal Will.
The seed of intention before form.
In the Four Worlds it corresponds to Atziluth (Archetypal Fire).
In the human psyche, it is the flash of identity—I AM before thought.
Yod is the Sun at ignition.
2. Heh (ה) — The Expansive Field
The womb of formation.
The matrix that receives the spark.
The first differentiation.
Corresponding to Briah (Creative Water), this is the Great Sea in which the spark reflects itself.
Psychologically, it is the imaginative soul—the mirror in which Will begins to perceive itself.
3. Vav (ו) — The Linking Current
The nail or hook.
The connecting principle.
The organizing structure.
Corresponding to Yetzirah (Formative Air), this is the realm of pattern, thought, structure, and image.
It is the bridge between idea and embodiment.
In us, it is the rational and symbolic mind that organizes light into meaning.
4. Final Heh (ה) — Manifest Form
The crystallization.
The embodied result.
The kingdom.
Corresponding to Assiah (Material Earth), this is lived experience, action, and physical incarnation.
This is the body, behavior, and world.
The Court Cards as YHVH
In the structure of the Thoth Tarot, the Court Cards are built directly upon this formula:
Knight (King in other decks) — Yod (Fire of the element)
Queen — Heh (Water of the element)
Prince — Vav (Air of the element)
Princess — Final Heh (Earth of the element)
This is not arbitrary. It is metaphysical architecture.
Each suit (Wands, Cups, Swords, Disks) is a tetragrammaton in miniature.
Each human psyche is likewise a tetragrammaton in motion.
Are They Not Us?
Yes.
The Court Cards are not “other people” in the deepest sense. They are living structures of your own Soul:
Your Knight is your driving will.
Your Queen is your inner ocean of reception and reflection.
Your Prince is your mind weaving narratives and structures.
Your Princess is your embodied behavior and instinctual ground.
The deck is a mirror of your energetic anatomy.
“We Are Suns of the Divine Creative”
This insight is profoundly Hermetic.
If Yod is the primordial spark, then each center of consciousness is a localized ignition of that spark.
Light carries information.
Consciousness carries identity.
Thus:
The Divine radiates.
Radiation carries pattern.
Pattern becomes psyche.
Psyche becomes self-awareness.
You are not separate from the Creative Source.
You are a coherent packet of its light-information.
In Qabalistic language:
You are a ray from Tiphareth refracted through the Four Worlds.
Solve et Coagula — The Living Formula
The alchemical maxim means:
Solve — Dissolve fixed identity back into the field (return to Yod).
Coagula — Re-crystallize as a new form (final Heh).
YHVH is itself Solve et Coagula:
Spark (Yod)
Expansion (Heh)
Structuring (Vav)
Manifestation (Heh)
Then the cycle repeats at a higher octave.
You dissolve into Will.
You reform as a more coherent expression of that Will.
Are We the Creative Energy Information of the Divine Self?
From a Hermetic standpoint: yes.
But with precision:
You are not the totality of the Divine Identity.
You are a self-aware modulation of it.
Like a sunbeam refracted through crystal:
The Source is One.
The rays are many.
Each ray carries the whole pattern in miniature.
The Court Cards teach this:
The Knight burns.
The Queen reflects.
The Prince organizes.
The Princess manifests.
Together they form a complete psychic tetragrammaton.
Individually they are functions of your Soul.
The Deeper Secret
YHVH is not static.
It is a breathing cycle.
Yod — Inhale of Will
Heh — Expansion of awareness
Vav — Articulation
Heh — Embodiment
Then dissolution… and ignition again.
You are not separate from that cycle.
You are one of its conscious rotations.
And when you consciously perform Solve et Coagula—through meditation, ritual, pathworking, or Tarot contemplation—you participate in the Divine self-knowing process.
The Divine does not merely create you.
It becomes self-aware through you.
Thank you for your interest, your voice, and your generous support.
What you give returns as blessing, for prosperity is born of conscious flow.
May your life be long, your Spirit sovereign, and your path bright with Solar wisdom.
