The Ritual of the Solar Chariot

Purpose:
To consciously attune yourself to the Eighteenth Path — The House of Influence — and activate the influx of spiritual abundance, hidden senses, and emotional mastery within the framework of the Hermetic Western Qabalah.

I. Preparation

Time:

• Preferably during a waxing Moon (building influence) or at Solar Noon (height of Solar power).

Place:

• A clean, dedicated ritual space facing East.

• Set up a simple altar:

  • Gold cloth or Solar colors.

  • A Cup or Grail (symbolizing the vessel of abundance).

  • A small Chariot symbol or drawn image (optional).

  • Tarot Card: The Chariot (ATU VII, Thoth Deck) placed on the altar.

  • Green candle (Netzach influence) and Yellow candle (Tiphereth influence).

Dress:

• White robe (purity of purpose) or gold accents if available.

Tools:

• Wand (for directing Will).

• Censer with Solar incense (e.g., frankincense, myrrh, or a blend).

II. Opening

1. Banishing:

• Perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP) or a simple purification invoking Raphael of the East (Air and Mind alignment).

2. Invocation of the Solar Self:
Facing East, say:

*"O Radiant Heart of the Sun,
O Tiphereth, beauty at the center of all,
I summon Thee to ride the Chariot of my Soul.

Enclose me in Thy shining enclosure,
That through me may the Influence of Goodness flow
Into all worlds within and without.

Let the hidden senses awaken,
Let the cause of all causes unveil itself within me.
So mote it be!"*

III. Middle Working

3. Lighting of Candles:

• Light the Yellow candle (Tiphereth) saying:

  "I ignite the flame of the Solar Self."

• Light the Green candle (Netzach) saying:

  "I awaken the fountain of creative victory."

4. Path of Cheth Visualization:

• Close eyes.

• Visualize yourself standing between two pillars (black and white), symbolizing polarity.

• A radiant golden Chariot appears before you.

• The Charioteer is crowned with a golden star (Kether reflection), armored in celestial armor.

Charioteer speaks:

"Will you ride the Path of Influence?"

Respond inwardly: "I will."

• Step into the Chariot.

• Feel the Sphinxes (or beasts) of Desire and Reason come under your command — perfectly balanced.

• The Chariot moves forward through a golden mist toward a blazing Solar Heart (Tiphereth).

5. Drawing Forth the Arcana:
As you ride, silently or aloud say:

*"From the investigation of my inmost Self,
I draw forth the Hidden Senses —
Vision beyond vision,
Sound beyond sound,
Feeling beyond flesh.

These dwell within my Shade and cling to me,
For I am the living Path of Influence."*

Visualize ancient symbols, letters, or images forming around you — these are your personal hidden powers awakening.

IV. Closing

6. Affirmation of Cause:
Stand before your altar. Raise the Wand or hand over your heart, proclaim:

*"By the Great House of Influence,
I am aligned with the Cause of Causes.

My Will, guided by Beauty,
My Emotions, purified by Love,
My Senses, sharpened by Light.

Thus, I move forward in Victory,
In the Chariot of my Spirit.
So mote it be."*

7. Extinguish Candles in reverse order (Green first, then Yellow).

8. Closing Banishing:
(Optional) Repeat the LBRP or simply give thanks aloud to the Solar Forces and the Guardians of the Path of Cheth.

Post-Ritual Practice:

• Journal any symbols, visions, or feelings immediately.

• For 7 days after, perform a short daily meditation on riding the Chariot — visualize yourself as master of the forces within.

• Reflect especially on how your Will influences your Desires and how emotional mastery leads to creative abundance.

Deeper Hermetic Notes:

• Chariot = Merkabah: In Kabbalistic mysticism, the Chariot is also the vehicle of ascension through spiritual realms.

• Cheth = "Fence": You must build the fence to guard your sacred abundance while directing it outward wisely.

• House of Influence: True spiritual influence is non-coercive. It is the silent radiance of authentic Being.

As Crowley would say:

"The Charioteer is he who can be drawn by no force, save his own Will."

This sigil may be used in your solar chariot ritual along with the Thoth ATU 7-Chariot.
